Cold Front Brings Cooler Weather To Brevard For Coming Week, Space Coast State Fair Opens in Viera Friday

A cold front moving through the area today finally brought some cooler weather into the Space Coast area. The Space Coast State Fair,  East Central Florida’s largest and most popular annual family event, will open Friday, Oct. 26, and will continue through Nov. 11, at Space Coast Daily Park, located next to Viera High School.

A pair of much-anticipated debates between governor hopefuls Republican Ron DeSantis and Democrat Andrew Gillum are set for this week, as the GOP fights to keep the office it’s held for 20 years and the Democrats try to make Gillum the first African-American governor of Florida and the first Democrat since Lawton Chiles to win the job.

ECONOMIC REPORT: Brevard County Unemployment Rate Drops to 2.9 Percent in September

Governor Rick Scott announced that Florida’s unemployment rate dropped to 3.5 percent, the lowest since February 2007, and a decrease of 7.3 percentage points since December 2010; this drop is faster than the national decline of 5.6 percentage points.
