Suspect in Brevard County Jail on $170,000 bond
BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA– Over the course of the past several months, the Titusville and Mims areas of Brevard County experienced a number of daytime residential burglaries during which firearms, electronics, and several thousand dollars’ worth of jewelry were taken.
During just one burglary alone, it was estimated that the victim lost over $14,000 in possessions after the perpetrator illegally entered their home during this rash of residential burglaries.
Agent Jeremy Benton of our North Precinct was subsequently assigned as the lead investigator on the cases and began the difficult process of attempting to track down and recover the stolen property as well as develop a potential suspect in the investigation.
Through his diligent efforts, Agent Benton was able to establish a link between Antonio Giles and a large amount of the property that had been stolen during the various burglaries.
As the investigation continued, Agent Benton was able to positively connect Giles to three separate burglaries that were committed in the Titusville/Mims area.
Working closely with the State Attorney’s Office, Agent Benton was able to obtain multiple arrests for Giles in connection with the burglaries and thefts from within.
On Friday, April 20, 2018, 32-year-old, Antonio Lamar Giles of Titusville, was arrested in Orange County on multiple outstanding felony warrants obtained by Agent Benton. Giles was charged with multiple counts of Burglary, Grand Theft, Theft of a Firearm, and Dealing in Stolen Property.
He is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail Complex on $170,000.00 bond. In addition, there are numerous other cases that are also pending which are believed to be linked to Giles as well.
Anyone with further information in reference to this investigation is asked to contact Agent Jeremy Benton of the North Precinct General Crimes Unit at (321)264-5210 or contact Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
Please join me in commending Agent Benton for his dedication and determination in getting criminals off our streets and safely behind bars where the belong.
Great Job Jeremy.
