Murray helped lead Mustangs to 13-2 overall record, their best season since 1989

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Merritt Island High School has promoted class of 2009 graduate Tyler Murray from offensive coordinator to head coach of the Mustangs football team.
Space Coast Daily–Friday Night Locker Room Coach of the Year Hurlie Brown announced that he would be leaving Merritt Island to join former Mustang and Space Coast Sports Hall of Famer Bubba McDowell at Prairie View A&M.
During the 2021 season, Murray helped lead the 13-2 Mustangs to their best season since 1989.
The Mustangs offense accounted for 3,370 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns, 1,442 rushing yards, and 15 rushing touchdowns.
Murray played for the ifm Razorbacks Ravenbsurg football team in Ravensburg, Germany, then traveled back to Merritt Island and became a part of the coaching staff.
