SHERIFF'S WEEKLY Crime Prevention MESSAGE
ABOVE VIDEO: Don’t Let the Grinch Or Evil Criminal Steal Your Christmas.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – With Christmas around the corner and shopping time in full swing its time to turn our focus to Crime Prevention, Safety and true enjoyment of the holidays.
Criminals are more active during the Christmas season.
Thieves know people are on the go and the hustle and bustle of the season can cause even the most alert individual to forget to do simple things like locking a car door.
This week we use the biggest Christmas thief of all time to help deliver our weekly crime prevention message, the mean old Mr. Grinch.
So in the spirit of the Dr. Seuss classic, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” here are a few tips to help ensure a safe and happy holiday season:
All the citizens in Brevard like Christmas a lot but the nasty old Grinch does not.
So be careful this Christmas as you wait for Saint Nick
that you don’t fall prey to an old “Grinchy” trick.
Watch your surroundings, have your keys in your hand,
be ready for whatever that old Grinch has planned.
Lock your car and put your valuables away in your trunk,
that will make sure the old Grinch and his plans are sunk.
Don’t leave your keys under doormats, the Grinch knows to look there,
instead, give a trusted neighbor a spare.
Break down boxes from expensive gifts before throwing them away.
A stack of boxes advertises what’s inside and that makes the Grinch’s day.
Be vigilante at home, close your garage, lock your doors,
put those back Mr. Grinch you know those aren’t yours.
Please do your part to ensure a safe holiday season by securing your valuables and locking your doors and be sure to share this important safety message with your friends and family.
On behalf of the 1,500 proud men and women of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Ivey wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
