BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Linda Roggenkamp, the president of the local non-profit, Brittany’s Wish, Inc., which provides financial support and other acts of kindness to families in central Florida with children receiving treatment for all types of cancer.
Brittany’s Wish is named after Roggenkamp’s granddaughter, Brittany Marie Beyel, who died of cancer in 2008. Her name and memory lives on through Brittany’s Wish.
When I asked Roggenkamp why Brittany’s Wish came into existence, she said, “I can’t speak for everyone in the family, but for me, it was a way to keep fighting, not to just give up because she wasn’t here.”
Brittany’s Wish will be holding their annual Denim & Gold Fundraiser on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Merritt Island Moose Lodge, 3150 N. Courtenay Pkwy., Merritt Island. This Casino Night Fundraiser is from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
