NASA’s Launch Services Program announced today that it selected United Launch Alliance’s (ULA’s) proven Atlas V vehicle to launch the Lucy mission, which is the first mission to Jupiter’s swarm of Trojan asteroids.

NASA’s Lucy spacecraft — named for humans’ earliest known ancestor, and designed to study Jupiter’s Trojan asteroids — will launch from Cape Canaveral in 2021 on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V.
