BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The caring staff at Cedar Creek Assisted Living on gorgeous Merritt Island are committed to making sure every resident in the community feel like they’re family, Executive Director Jason Rodriguez says.
“Starting on the day a resident moves in, this becomes their home and they become part of our family,” said Rodriguez.
Early last year, he took over operations at Cedar Creek bringing 14 years of experience from a diverse background in hospitals, assisted living and nursing facilities.
“Our goal is to provide the highest quality-of-life possible for each of our residents,” said Rodriguez. “We strive to consistently deliver services at a level that all can be proud of.”
Caring Nursing Staff
This gorgeous facility nestled in the heart of the Space Coast offers a total of 78 apartments ranging from studios, one bedroom and very spacious two bedroom units. Cedar Creek offers a variety of amenities for this booming community while maintaining the family-friendly and personal atmosphere that draws so many to Merritt Island.
New floors in apartments and updated landscaping, including gardening areas for residents to nurture are some of the updates and improvements made over the last year.
“Upon becoming a Cedar Creek resident, we offer a variety of options to meet their needs,” Rodriguez said, adding that other changes, like gourmet dishes prepared by culinary trained chefs, also enhance the new Cedar Creek living style.
“Our dietitians customize menus and our chefs are constantly improving food quality. The culinary team focuses on producing quality, scratch dishes with only the freshest of ingredients.”
With such a wide range of experience, and as a multistate regional director and executive director, Rodriguez truly believes this group of employees are by far the most outstanding.
“They are such a phenomenal group of people, from the caring nursing staff to the attention to details housekeeping team, and let’s not forget the hard-working maintenance and dietary departments,” he said.
“We have such a solid group of professionals that feel our residents are our family. It is such a privilege for me to work beside this group that strives to meet and exceed the expectations of our residents – and help lead them into making this community become the premier senior community in Brevard County.”
“Some of our additional amenities are weekly housekeeping and laundry services, restaurant-style meal services, a variety of activities, and even transportation five days a week to provide a large variety of outings,” said Rodriguez.
“We travel to everything from standard doctor appointments to lunch trips and shopping. In the coming months, we are partnering up with some remarkable community organizations to provide a larger range of activities and programs. It’s about taking the inside world out and bringing the outside world in… where assisted living meets independent living.”
Furry Family Members Welcome
The Cedar Creek community even opens its doors for your furry family members.
“We are all so welcoming to not just our residents, but to their beloved pets as well,” said Rodriguez.
The newest addition to the Cedar Creek family is Maya, a 15-week old black lab.
“We want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy the new amenities inside the building, but also want to give them the option to enjoy the world outside these walls,” he said about outings for residents to space launches, plays, fishing trips and so much more.
Cedar Creek plans many events for residents such as visiting performers and celebrations. On Friday, May 11 there will be a Community Health Fair including health assessments, food and vendors. There will also be open houses for people to see the outstanding apartments and amenities.
During Armed Forces Day on May 19, Cedar Creek will host a car show with many fun activities to celebrate our military. Cedar Creek is owned and operated by military combat veterans and are committed to celebrating and giving back.
Cedar Creek has been carefully designed to provide the maximum benefit to residents in every aspect of their daily lives. Each resident is provided with trained staff, 24 hours a day, to assist with personal care, medication assistance, laundry and housekeeping and maintenance services. Cedar Creek even has an on-site beautician available.
