Central Square has identified a security vulnerability within their system
BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – City of Palm Bay leadership received an update from Central Square on the possible security breach involving the Click2Gov online payment platform used by the Palm Bay Utilities Department and the City’s Building Division for credit card processing.
Central Square has identified a security vulnerability within its system; however, they have been unable to find evidence that user data was accessed.
While there has been no evidence that user data was compromised, Central Square has notified all major credit bureaus of the security vulnerability as a precaution and will offer free credit card monitoring services for impacted customers.
Notification letters will be sent out to potentially affected Click2Gov users with additional information, including how to sign up for no-cost account monitoring.
Considering the recent security issue within the Click2Gov platform, the City of Palm Bay has decided to move to a new online payment system.
The new, cloud-based payment solution will offer enhanced account security and user-friendly features.
The City is working diligently to expedite the setup and launch of the new system. Additional details, including the official launch date, will be released as information becomes available.
A temporary payment solution has been implemented to enable customers to make secure online credit card payments to the City’s Building Division and the Utilities Department.
Credit card payments may be made online via the City’s payment portal at pay.palmbayflorida.org. Additional payment methods are available for those who wish to wait to make online payments until the new cloud-based system launches.
Building Division customers may make payments using the following options:
In-person cash or check payments may be made at the Building Division offices located on the second floor of the City Hall Annex at 120 Malabar Road SE, Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Check payments may be dropped off in an envelope clearly marked “Attn: Building Division” at the Utilities Department payment drop box located at City Hall.
Utilities customers may make payments by using the following methods:
In-person cash or check payments may be made at the Utilities Customer Service lobby located in the City Hall Annex located at 120 Malabar Road SE, Monday – Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Thursday from 9:30 am to 5 p.m.
Check payments may be dropped off at the payment drop boxes located at City Hall and the Utilities Administration building located at 250 Osmosis Drive SE
Cash and check payments may be made at the drive-thru payment window at the Utilities Administration building Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
