BREVARD COUNTY • COOCA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Tigers football team announced on Tuesday the hiring of former Holy Trinity Tigers head coach Nate hook as Associate Head Coach and passing game coordinator.
Coach Nate Hooks released the following statement following his new position at Cocoa High School:
I’d like to sincerely thank all of the coaches and players around the county that expressed their desire for me to be a part of their programs.
“All things are working for my good.” I was born in my grandparent’s home in Cocoa, I graduated from Cocoa, and I’m in Cocoa’s Hall of Fame. Cocoa High School is the only program in the county to develop more 247 Sports & ESPN top 300-ranked players in the country than I developed at Holy Trinity.
Cocoa High School is also the only other team in the county to go to 4 straight regional semifinal games.
With the appreciation that the community and school show for winning, Cocoa High makes the perfect transition. I know who I am, and I know whose I am! “I’m coming home!”
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy officials announced on June 13 that Nate Hooks will no longer serve as the Tiger’s head football coach.
Coach Hooks is a Brevard County native and a 1982 graduate of Cocoa High School, where he was the MVP and football team captain and was inducted into the Cocoa High School Hall of Fame.
He was named Holy Trinity’s head coach in 2014 and was the longest-tenured head football coach in Brevard County during that time. He compiled an overall record of 48-36 over eight seasons.
