Eastern Florida State Women’s Soccer Advances to Southeast District Final with Win Over Gordon State

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team advanced to the Southeast District final on Friday afternoon with a victory over Gordon State in Milledgeville, Georgia.

The Titans shut out Gordon State 7-0 to advance to the Southeast District final for the 11th straight season.

Sophomore Ana Alvarez Garcia scored in the first minute of the contest on a pass from Laura Di Mascio. The game would remain 1-0 until Di Mascio scored on an assist from Garcia.

Up 2-0 the Titans would score five more times in the second half including two more from Di Mascio for her first hat trick of the season.

Nancy Almanza scored twice and Samira Roper Morales also scored in the victory.

The Titans will face USC Lancaster in the championship game on Saturday at 2 p.m. USC Lancaster advanced by defeating Georgia Military in penalty kicks in the first semifinal at Georgia State College and University.
