Edna Mae (Walling) Brennan, 94, of Oxford, North Carolina, formerly of Merritt Island, Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the home of her daughter, Gail McCauley, with whom she lived for the last two years.
Born in West Keansburg, New Jersey, Edna Mae was the daughter of Alfred D. Walling and Edna Pauline Reiboldt.
She was predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Raymond D. Brennan, Jr. She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia A. LeClair (John) of Lagrange, Maine; Gail E. McCauley (Mike), of Oxford, North Carolina, and Sharon E. Anderson (Russell) of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Clermont, Florida.
She also has six grandchildren: John LeClair of Lagrange, Maine; Raymond LeClair (Jennifer) of Sandy Valley, Nevada; Catherine Cooper (Michael) of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Paul LeClair of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Justin Anderson (Zari) of Park City, Utah, and Samantha Anderson of Columbia, Maryland; and six great-grandchildren, Tanya, Michael and Cheyenne Cooper of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Miranda and Martie LeClair of Lagrange, Maine; and Christopher LeClair of Sandy Valley, Nevada.
Besides her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her granddaughter-in-law, Melissa LeClair.
She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, having been a member of Post 4303, West Keansburg, NJ; Post 8950, Lanham, Maryland; and Post 10131, Cape Canaveral, Florida.
She also volunteered at St. Ambrose Catholic School, Cheverly, Maryland, and Howard County General Hospital, and a Eucharistic Minister at Our Saviour’s Catholic Church, Cocoa Beach, Florida.
She is also survived by her two brothers, Alfred Walling of Red Bank, New Jersey, and Charles Walling of Fayetteville, Arkansas, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, at Beckman Williamson Funeral Home, 101 N. Brevard Avenue, Cocoa Beach, from 4 p.m. to 7 pm. The interment will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery Thursday, December 8, at 10:30 am.
