Corbin played in all nine games in 2020 with eight starts and totaled 548 all-purpose yards
(SEMINOLES.COM) – Florida State had three football student-athletes, including former Rockledge Raider Jashaun Corbin, earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team.
Corbin, a sophomore running back, along with redshirt senior defensive end Janarius Robinson and freshman Robert Scott, Jr., were all recognized for their academic and athletic accomplishments during the 2020 season.
“I’m thrilled for these three to be recognized for their efforts on the field and in the classroom,” Mike Norvell said.
“It’s exciting to see our student-athletes challenging themselves to excel in every facet of their lives. Our dedication to the classroom has been evident through a program-record GPA in the spring of 2020 and continues to be showcased with honors such as this.”
In order to merit consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, all student-athletes must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or higher, and also must have a minimum 3.00 GPA for the most recently completed semester.
The selection process provides primary consideration to the student-athletes’ athletic accomplishments during the recently completed season.
Corbin played in all nine games in 2020 with eight starts and totaled 548 all-purpose yards, gaining 401 rushing yards with five touchdowns, 115 receiving yards, and 32 yards on two kickoff returns.
The social science major posted his best performance of the year in the season-ending 56-35 win over Duke as he scored a career-high three rushing touchdowns, one shy of FSU’s single-game record.
Corbin gained a season-best 77 rushing yards with one score on 14 carries at North Carolina State.
The Rockledge, Fla., native picked up three of Florida State’s five successful fourth-down conversions at the Wolfpack, including a 28-yard touchdown run on a 4th-and-1, helping FSU post the highest single-game fourth-down conversions total in the ACC in 2020 and the second-highest nationally last season.
Robinson, who has earned his degree in social science, started all nine games in 2020. He recorded 26 tackles, including 7.0 for loss with three sacks, five quarterback hurries, two pass breakups and one blocked kick.
Robinson led the team in tackles for loss and quarterback hurries and was second on the team in sacks.
He recorded 3.0 tackles for loss, including a career-high 2.0 sacks, in Florida State 31-28 win over No. 5 North Carolina.
In the season opener against Georgia Tech, Robinson’s blocked PAT attempt was FSU’s third blocked kick of the game, which tied a program record for blocked kicks in a game.
Scott, an exploratory major, played in eight games and started the final seven at right tackle. He was named a 247Sports True Freshman All-American and FSU’s co-Offense Freshman of the Year.
Scott blocked for an offense that averaged 199.9 rushing yards per game, FSU’s highest average since 2016, and 5.11 yards per rush, the most by FSU in a season since 2015.
The yards-per-rush average ranked 23rd nationally, 16th among teams with at least 350 carries, and the yards-per-game average ranked 20th in the nation among teams that played at least nine games.
Scott was part of an offensive line that started four freshmen at North Carolina State, the first time Florida State had four freshmen offensive line starters in a game since the 2011 Champs Sports Bowl and helped convert five fourth-down attempts, the highest single-game total in the ACC and second-highest single-game total in the nation in 2020.
He also blocked in the 56-35 win against Duke as the Seminoles scored six rushing touchdowns in an ACC game for only the second time in program history and the first time since 1992.
