BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy announced on Monday that Nate Hooks will no longer serve as the Tiger’s Head Football Coach.
Coach Hooks is a Brevard County native and a 1982 graduate of Cocoa High School. At Cocoa, he was the MVP and football team captain and was inducted into the Cocoa High School Hall of Fame.
Coach Nate Hooks was named head coach back in 2014 and was the longest-tenured head football coach in Brevard County during that time.
According to the report, Hooks will remain on the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy faculty staff.
Director of Holy Trinity Athletics Dr. James Phillips released a statement following the decision regarding their football program.
“Coach Nate Hooks will not be serving as Head Football Coach for the upcoming 2022 season. He will remain a member of the HTEA faculty.
“We appreciate Coach Hooks’ service and dedication in helping shape the lives and character of so many of our student-athletes during his eight years coaching the varsity team.”
“While the search for a new head coach will commence immediately, I will work closely with the Director of Football Operations, Coach Steve Henderson, to ensure continued and consistent practice schedules.”
“Varsity player workouts and conditioning training will continue under the direction of Coach Vincent Martins, Holy Trinity’s new Director of Athletic Performance. I am confident Holy Trinity’s football program remains in a solid position to continue its winning tradition and is excited about the new chapter for our Varsity Tigers.”
Coach Hooks compiled an overall record of 48-36 over eight seasons.
