BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – West Melbourne Police units responded to the scene of a shooting at the Reserves of Melbourne apartment complex on Sunday morning.
According to officials, upon police officers arrival, it was learned that multiple suspects, possibly armed with a firearm had forcefully entered the apartment.
“The homeowner was armed with a firearm and fired multiple times, striking two of the suspects. One suspect was transported from the scene and was pronounced dead at Holmes Regional,” said West Melbourne Police officials.
Reports suggest another suspect arrived at the hospital and is currently being treated.
The investigation is still ongoing. Detectives are working to determine the events leading up to the incident and any relationship between the persons involved.
