BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday night in Port St John.
Deputies responded to the McDonald’s located at 6857 North Highway 1, Port St John, at approximately 8:30 p.m. in reference to a report that a person had been shot.
Upon arrival, deputies located a man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation has found that the man walked up to a vehicle in the parking lot and physically attacked the male driver who was eating his food.
The man continued striking the driver during the unprovoked attack.
The driver armed himself with a firearm from within the vehicle and fired one shot, which struck the man.
