Merritt Island Falls short in State Semifinal
WINTER HAVEN, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Mustangs season came to an end on Wednesday after they lost to Middleburg Broncos by way of four sets in the State Semifinals in Winter Haven.
The Mustangs won the first set 25-20, but dropped the next three 25-17, 25-16, and 25-20.
The Broncos will now advance to the State Championship to take on Barron Collier (Naples) Cougars (26-6) Thursday at 1 p.m.
The Mustangs finish the season with overall record of 23-7.
