Severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Canaveral Groves
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Tornado Warning for Central Brevard County until 7:30 p.m.
At 6:31 p.m. EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Canaveral Groves, over Cocoa moving northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD…Tornado and quarter-sized hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
This dangerous storm will be near Merritt Island around 6:50 p.m. EDT.
