OBITUARY: Alan Gregory Bonn, 78, of Indialantic, Passed Away Peacefully Nov. 7

Alan Gregory Bonn passed away peacefully at his home in Indialantic, on November 7, 2021, due to complications from an elective heart procedure. Alan volunteered many hours as President of the Lansing Island and the Cloisters Homeowners Associations and was always willing to help his wife Pat with her philanthropic endeavors.

BREVARD COUNTY • INDIALANTIC, FLORIDA – Alan Gregory Bonn passed away peacefully at his home in Indialantic, on November 7, 2021, due to complications from an elective heart procedure.

The son of the late Anthony and Marcella Bonn, Alan was born in New Jersey on May 27, 1943. He grew up in South Orange and spent his summers at the family home in Lavalette on the Jersey Shore.

Alan graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1965 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and received his MBA from The University of Southern California in 1967.

Upon graduation, he joined RCA’s Management Training Program and began his career in Manufacturing at their Southern California location. Alan was engaged to Patricia (Pat) Henning and they were married on June 8, 1968, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills, NJ.

Alan and Pat moved to Westlake Village, CA, and had three children, Austin, David, and Alison. Alan spent most weekends coaching his children’s soccer and baseball teams and driving them to tennis tournaments.

In 1983, Alan joined Harris Corporation as Director of Manufacturing in Syosset, Long Island, NY and the family of five relocated to Lloyd Harbor, NY. After their youngest child left for college, Alan and Pat moved to Indian Harbour Beach when he became a Vice President of Emerge in Sebastian, FL.

When Alan retired from the corporate world, he joined Sotheby’s International Realty and achieved the status of a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist.

Alan enjoyed his Saturday morning tennis at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club for many years and later switched to golf. He also liked working in his yard but his favorite pastime was watching the Fighting Irish football games.

Alan volunteered many hours as President of the Lansing Island and the Cloisters Homeowners Associations and was always willing to help Pat with her philanthropic endeavors.

Alan is survived by his loving wife, Pat, of 53 years; his three children, Austin (Brenda) of Nashville, TN; David (Jennifer) of Elmhurst, IL; Alison (Ted Carithers) of Indian Head Park, IL, and his eight grandchildren: Madison, Taylor, Alexis, Mason, Avery, Carter, Chase, and Callie.

He is also survived by his sister, Marcella Leighton, niece, Debbi Ziegler, nephew, Gregg Leighton and cousin, Leonard Mesonas.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in memory of Alan.
