BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Gary K. Barnette, age 65, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Mr. Barnette was a native of Logan, WV, and lived in Melbourne for most of his life.
He was a war-era veteran of the United States Coast Guard and spent much of his youth working, training show horses, and even professional bull riding. He was always happy, joking, having a good time, and loved animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Kent Barnette and Margaret Turner Feagin, and his sister Peggy Ann Barnette.
He is survived by his son, Matthew K. Barnette of Melbourne, FL brothers Mark K. Barnette of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Robert N. Bridges of Canton, GA, three nephews, and one niece.
A private memorial service will be held for the family. A public celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
