PETER CRANIS: We now have our November Tourist Development Tax numbers, and it was another strong month. The final number was $1.36 million – a 71 percent improvement over November 2020 and a 19 percent improvement over November 2019, making it the best November in history (we had budgeted conservatively at $800,000).

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – We now have our November Tourist Development Tax numbers, and it was another strong month. The final number was $1.36 million – a 71 percent improvement over November 2020 and a 19 percent improvement over November 2019, making it the best November in history (we had budgeted conservatively at $800,000).

Fall has continued to be strong and cruising continued its growth. Looking at TDT (tourist development tax) by type, hotels represented 68 percent of the total for the month and vacation rentals were at 30 percent of TDT.

In terms of hotel/motel revenue by city, Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral (31percent ) were, as usual, slightly ahead of Melbourne and the Beaches (30 percent ) as a percentage of the total.

The average daily rate continues to be strong as well at $111 (higher than Novovember 2019). I think we are in for a strong December as well when those numbers come in next month.

From a new hotel perspective, we are still seeing new projects pop up. Right now there are over 1,000 new rooms between 2021 and 2022. It looks like 2023 will be a breakout year with more than 1,200 new rooms planned. That would put us over 12,300 rooms for the destination.
