Timothy Colley, 56, of Melbourne, was operating the Harley at the time of the crash
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Melbourne police officers responded to the 800 Block of South Harbor City Boulevard regarding a fatal vehicle versus motorcycle crash on Tuesday.
According to Melbourne Police Cmdr. Mark Renkens, 47-year-old Katrina Colley of Melbourne, who was a passenger on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, was killed after being ejected.
The passenger of the motorcycle did not appear to be wearing a helmet, according to Cmdr. Renkens.
“Upon the officer’s arrival, they discovered the operator and passenger of a Harley Davidson had been thrown from the motorcycle and had suffered serious, life-threatening injuries due to the crash,” said Cmdr. Renkens.
Timothy Colley, 56, of Melbourne, was operating the Harley at the time of the crash and was taken to the hospital.
“Both persons were transported to an area hospital by emergency medical services for medical treatment, where the passenger ultimately succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash,” said Cmdr. Renkens.
The initial investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling southbound on South Harbor City Boulevard when a gray Fiat, driven by 20-year-old Winter Robinson of Satellite Beach, attempted to turn left from a business parking lot into northbound lanes and across the motorcycle’s travel lane.
“Impairment on drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash at this time and the crash is still under investigation.”
