The Rockledge City Council race came down to a handful of votes on Tuesday as Incumbent Sammie Brown Martin defeated challenger Josiah Gattle by just 25 votes out of a total of 4,453 votes that were cast.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Rockledge City Council race came down to a handful of votes on Tuesday as Incumbent Sammie Brown Martin defeated challenger Josiah Gattle by just 25 votes out of a total of 4,453 votes that were cast.

Martin finished with 2,239 votes, while Gattle had 2,214 votes.

Rockledge City Council terms are three years with no term limits.

Council members earn $7,200 annually, while mayor earns $8,400 annually.

Mayor Thomas Price Jr. ran unopposed for reelection this year.
