Rockledge Native, Current FSU Running Back Jashaun Corbin Named to Doak Walker Award Watch List

(247sports.com)– Florida State redshirt sophomore running back Jashaun Corbin and redshirt freshman running back Lawrance Toafili have been named to the 2021 Doak Walker Award Watch List.

The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the nation’s top college running back by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum. The two Seminoles are part of an 82-man watch list.

During his first season in Tallahassee in 2020, Corbin played in all nine games with eight starts and totaled 548 all-purpose yards.

Corbin rushed 81 times for 401 yards and five touchdowns, caught 19 passes for 115 yards, and added 32 yards on two kickoff returns.

Prior to his arrival at FSU as a transfer from Texas A&M, the Rockledge, Fla. native appeared in 14 games for the Aggies totaling 1,025 all-purpose yards (483 rushing yards, 441 kickoff return yards, and 101 receiving yards).

Corbin was a member of the All-ACC Academic Team in 2020.
