WATCH: Ian Honda of DeLaura Middle School recently won first place at the USA Surfing Prime East event. Honda is a member of the USA Surf team and working to qualify for 2023 USA Surfing U18 Shortboard Championships set June 20 to 24 in Lower Trestles, San Onofre State Beach, California.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Ian Honda of DeLaura Middle School recently won first place at the USA Surfing Prime East event.

Honda is a member of the USA Surf team and working to qualify for 2023 USA Surfing U18 Shortboard Championships set June 20 to 24 in Lower Trestles, San Onofre State Beach, California.

USA Surfing is the national governing body for the sport of surfing in the United States and is focused on building teams with continuous opportunities to progress.

The teams are divided into the competitive age group categories of the Prime Series: Under 18, Under 16, and Under 14-year-old surfers.
