BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Robert Lee Ramon Strachan, 36, of Titusville, was arrested after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle and crashed into multiple vehicles, including law enforcement, after a countywide pursuit.

Titusville Police Department spokesperson Amy Matthews said Strachan was charged with Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, 4 Counts of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding after a Crash, 4 Counts of Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Damage, Driving without a Valid Driver’s License, Resisting LEO without Violence, Resisting LEO with Violence Aggravated Assault.

“The preliminary investigation revealed on Nov. 1, at 12:06 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop along the A. Max Memorial Bridge Parkway in reference to a reported stolen 2021 white Silverado 3500 flatbed work truck,” said Matthews.

“The suspect did not comply and fled toward Garden Street, traveling through the city, driving recklessly in the wrong lanes, and forcing other motorists off the road. Officers were able to use tire deflating devices to slow down the vehicle.”

According to Matthews, the suspect hit a 2014 brown Honda CRV near the intersection of South Street and Cheney Highway, left the crash scene and then intentionally struck a Titusville Police Department marked patrol SUV at the intersection of US1 and Precision Way.

Strachan fled the crash scene southbound out of the Titusville city limits into unincorporated Brevard County, Cocoa, Merritt Island and back into Cocoa.

The suspect crashed into a 2021 white Honda CRV, which was forced into a collision with a 2016 white Nissan Altima near the intersection of State Road 520 and Riveredge Boulevard in Cocoa. The suspect continued past the traffic crash without stopping and was stopped just past the scene on State Road 520.

“At approximately 12:55 p.m., Strachan was taken out of the vehicle by officers, placed into custody and booked into the Brevard County Jail with an $83,000 bond,” said Matthews.

Tactical maneuvers initiated to stop the suspect resulted in moderate damage to two additional law enforcement vehicles, and there were no injuries.
