Titusville Man Killed in Single Vehicle Crash Wednesday Morning on US-1

Police have not released the identity of the driver

A Titusville man was killed Wednesday morning after a single vehicle traffic crash happened near the 5200 block of South Washington Avenue around 7 a.m.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A Titusville man was killed Wednesday morning after a single vehicle traffic crash happened near the 5200 block of South Washington Avenue around 7 a.m.

According to Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department, the preliminary investigation revealed a silver 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, traveling nouthbound near the 5200 block of South Washington Avenue (US 1), lost control, entered the far eastside grassy median of the roadway, went airborne, hit a concrete street light pole, and finally struck a wooden power pole.

The victim, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to a local hospital, succumb to his injuries and pronounced dead at approximately 8:30 a.m.

There were no other injuries.

This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department.
