moving to the west at 15 mph
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A tropical depression in the Atlantic is struggling to develop into a tropical storm late Wednesday night, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Tropical Depression Eleven is moving to the west at 15 mph and carrying 35 mph max sustained winds.
Experts are still expecting the system to develop into a tropical storm by Thursday. However, the good news for Florida is the path projection has the potential tropical storm bending north of the Lesser Antiles by Saturday and not impacting Florida.
The result of high wind shear and dry air continue to help push away and break apart tropical systems away from Florida.
When the tropical depression becomes a tropical storm, it will be named ‘Josephine’.
