Two Men Arrested After Found Inside Florida Power & Light Substation in Cocoa Beach with Burglary Tools, FPL Equipment

Cocoa Beach Police arrested Russell Shaw, 52, of Mims and Marc Roberge, 37, of Titusville were arrested early Friday morning around 2:30 a.m. after they were found inside the Florida Power & Light substation on 241 West Columbia Lane.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police arrested Russell Shaw, 52, of Mims and Marc Roberge, 37, of Titusville early Friday morning around 2:30 a.m. after they were found inside the Florida Power & Light substation on 241 West Columbia Lane.

Both suspects were found to be in possession of burglary tools and thousands of dollars worth of property from inside the compound.

Cocoa Beach Police Officer Raul Adames was on foot patrol in the area when he heard voices coming from inside the secured facility. As a result, police officers established a perimeter and called for assistance from a BCSO K-9 team where they eventually arrested Shaw and Roberge without incident.

Evidence related to the crime was also located inside the arrestees’ nearby vehicle.

Investigation is ongoing to determine if other similar incidents have occurred in surrounding cities and counties.

Shaw and Roberge were charged with Burglary; Grand Theft; Possession of Burglary Tools, and taken to the Brevard County Jail.
