BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue is advising residents and guests that there will be two prescribed burns happening today in Mims and Melbourne.
The first prescribed burn is a 13-acre burn off Arch Rd., west of I-95 in Mims.
The second prescribed burn is a 150-acre burn south of US-192 and west of I-95 in Melbourne.
Prescribed burn, or controlled burning, is a technique used in forest management, farming, or prairie restoration.
