UPDATE: Melbourne Police Identify Cedar Drive Shooting Victim Killed as 16-Year-Old from Melbourne

Melbourne Police announced on Thursday that the 16-year-old victim died as a result of the injuries he sustained from the shooting on the 900 block of Cedar Drive.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police announced on Thursday that the 16-year-old victim died as a result of the injuries he sustained from the shooting on the 900 block of Cedar Drive.

Officers say when they responded to the scene, they quickly located a victim, and immediately rendered medical aid.

The victim was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in critical condition but later died as a result of the crash.

The victim is a Melbourne resident.

Initial information received was that unknown suspect(s) fled the area in a white car prior to the arrival of officers
