Melbourne Police have released the identity of the shooting victim of a fatal shooting that happened late Wednesday night at a UMart convenience store at 653 E. University Blvd.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have released the identity of the shooting victim of a fatal shooting that happened late Wednesday night at a UMart convenience store at 653 E. University Blvd.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Bacari Berlis from Melbourne.

Police were called to the scene around 11:42 p.m. on Wednesday where they found Berlis with an apparent shot wound. Berlis was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center by ambulance, but was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Melbourne Police are still investigating the shooting incident.
