BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Titusville Police arrested 52-year-old Dax Rodriguez of Titusville, in an armed carjacking that occurred in unincorporated Titusville on Wednesday.

Rodriguez was taken into custody after the stolen vehicle he was driving was disabled during a pursuit involving Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Titusville Police Department.

Rodrigues who is currently on probation for a drug conviction, was charged by Sheriff’s agents with Robbery with a Firearm, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Petit Theft and Violation of Probation. He is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail Complex on a No Bond status.

The incident began yesterday, May 10, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m. when Titusville Police Department Officers responded to an address on Willis Drive in reference to an armed male threatening a female.

Rodriquez fled from the area upon the arrival of the officers and approached a residence on Carpenter Road in unincorporated Titusville, producing a firearm and forcing the resident to give up his vehicle.

As deputies responded to the area, Rodriguez was observed driving the stolen vehicle.

Upon seeing deputies, Rodriguez fled from the area at a high rate of speed.

Deputies pursued Rodriguez south onto I-95 to State Road 50, where the pursuit continued west into east Orange County, until the vehicle was disabled by officers from the Titusville Police Department.

Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident and is also facing charges by the Titusville Police Department.
