BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The new owners of Romelia Farms Wildlife Sanctuary, formerly known as the Obloy Family Ranch, are excited to give visitors the familiar experience they have been accustomed too, but have plans to bring their own flare to the one-of-a kind experience with the adorable animals the community loves.

Jeremy and Lina Graves compared their recent purchase of the Obloy Family Ranch to the 2011 film ‘We Bought A Zoo’ featuring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson. While there may not be lions, tigers or bears like the award winning movie, the Graves family hope to take the historic property in Merritt Island to new heights and new experiences.

The property dates back to the 1890s, when it operated as a navel orange grove and later transitioned to become one of Florida’s first gator ranches.

In 2015, the Obloy family purchased the ranch and helped transform the property into a wildlife sanctuary and farm, adding horseback riding trails, restoring and restocking freshwater ponds for fishing, building and stocking the general store and outdoor party hub.

Along with the petting zoo, wildlife sanctuary and horseback riding, it also offers accommodations in private cabins, as well as a 3,000 square foot barn, which now serves as the Barn Stall Winery & Wedding Barn.

Romelia Farms Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 165 Gator Drive in Merritt Island.
