ABOVE VIDEO: This weekend, members of our agency competed against Law Enforcement and Military Working Dogs from across the country in the Space Coast K9 Competition.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – This weekend, members of our agency competed against Law Enforcement and Military Working Dogs from across the country in the Space Coast K9 Competition.
This amazing competition that is hosted annually by the Cocoa Police Department, challenges K9 officers and their partners as they compete in obstacle courses and other intense challenges to see who is the Top Dog.
Now while we all know that “Junny” is America’s Top Police Dog, he and I both pulled a hamstring when we were getting out of our truck to get BBQ before the competition!! With Junny out of the way, the field was wide open for someone to step up and take home the hardware.
That someone was K9 Deputy Lauren Donaldson and her partner, Zeppelin, who showed everyone how it’s done!!
Out of 12 competitors, K9 Zeppelin took 1st Place for “Hardest Dog” and “Fastest Dog!!” What that means is Zeppelin will be the first one to catch you and will rip your limbs off with the hardest hit and bite.
Please join me in congratulating Deputy Donaldson on all of her hard work, and of course, Zeppelin, for doing an amazing job.
I would also like to congratulate our other K9 Deputies and their K9 partners, Dep. Kenrick Walters & Kovu, Dep. Lee Roth & Lefty, Dep. John Hubinger & Lars, and Dep. Josh Hardy & Richie, for a job well done and for representing our agency so well.
Also a big shout out to Joe Pusich & Hugo from our Air Force 45th Security Forces Squadron for capturing first place in the Obstacle Course.
Thank you to our community for coming out to this great event, and showing your support to all of these hard working individuals who keep our community and country safe.
And of course a huge “thank you” to the team at the Cocoa Police Department for hosting this event each year and for all the hard work that makes it such a great event.
