ABOVE VIDEO: SpaceX is targeting Wednesday, May 24 for Falcon 9’s launch of the ARABSAT BADR-8 mission to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The 127-minute launch window opens at 11:25 p.m. ET (03:25 UTC on May 24). If needed, there is a backup opportunity available on Wednesday, May 24 with the same window.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch carrying a Badr 8 communications satellite is scheduled for tonight from Cape Canaveral.

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch carrying a Badr 8 communications satellite is scheduled for tonight from Cape Canaveral.

Launch is targeted for 1:22 a.m. ET.

The Badr 8 communications satellite is for Arabsat based in Saudi Arabia.

The Badr 8 satellite will provide communications coverage for Arabsat customers over Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The spacecraft was built by Airbus, and is based on the Eurostar Neo platform.

The Falcon 9’s first stage booster will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
