BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – A 29-year-old Merritt Island man died late Friday night after he was hit by a vehicle on N. Banana Drive near Central Avenue.
Authorities say the crash happened around 10:21 p.m. when a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old Merritt Island woman was traveling northbound on Banana Dr. when she struck the man who was laying in the northbound lane.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene as authorities conducted their investigation.
The crash is still under investigation.
