89 Eastern Florida State Titan Student-Athletes Receive All-Academic Team Honors

SEVENTEEN STUDENT-ATHLETES FINISHED WITH 4.0 GPA

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College student-athletes once again excelled in the classroom this year as the Florida College System Activities Association named 89 Titans to the All-Academic team.

The 89 student-athletes is a record for the school, topping last season’s 88 that were honored.

The student-athletes had to have a grade point average over 3.30 this season and we had a record 17 student-athletes finished with a 4.0, topping the 14 we had last season.

Women’s basketball players Hanna Mebius-Svensson, Martina Narro and Rosa Redondo, men’s soccer player Leandro Santoro, men’s tennis player Eric Tripathi, Softball players Makenzie Fore and Abigail Smith, women’s soccer players Isla Brown, Mia Lewis and Kailey Dunne, volleyball players Gaia Riedmuller and Emma Kiser, women’s tennis player Simona Karlsson Hantziz, women’s golfers Gabrielle Fernandez and Sarah Knitter, baseball players Gavin Zieglar and Grayson Adams all finished with 4.0 grade point averages.

All 13 sports had at least one player make the All-Academic team with the softball and women’s soccer teams leading EFSC with 12 players honored, while the volleyball and men’s soccer teams had nine players honored.

Here are all of the student-athletes honored by the FCSAA:

■ Baseball (8): Grayson Adams 4.0, Gavin Zieglar 4.0, Brady Linkel 3.86, Brady Guthrie 3.76, Jacob Hardy 3.56, Brady Strelitz 3.50, Ryne Wallace 3.41, Steven Abreu 3.36

■ Men’s basketball (7): Caleb Byrd 3.90, Matija Zuzic 3.68, Eric Parnell 3.64, Bogdan Cret 3.54, Augustin Kingombe 3.54, Oliver Pasque 3.48, Owen Aquino 3.36

■ Men’s cross country (2): Dayton Law 3.75, Anthony Bergnes 3.2

■ Men’s golf (4): Pontus Torgner 3.83, Adam Vermut 3.75, Murphy Allard 3.62, Robert Greninger 3.30
