BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – While I am usually the one telling everyone about the amazing men and women of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, this morning I could not be more proud to share with our community that one of our very own, School Resource Deputy Corporal Brett Moore, was recently recognized as the 2023-2024 “Employee of the Year” for Hoover Elementary.

Last week, the Brevard Schools Foundation and Brevard Public Schools, hosted a reception honoring “Employees of the Year” throughout our Brevard Public Schools.

Of course, this amazing recognition ranged from teachers and principals, to after school care coordinators, and also Cpl. Moore as the “Employee of the Year” at Hoover Elementary.

I have always contended that the role of School Resource Deputy is one of the most important jobs in our profession and goes far beyond just protecting the thousands of students, teachers, and administrators who are on our campuses each and every day.

Our School Resource Deputies and Officers build relationships and bonds with every student on their campus and the difference they make is life changing.

Please join me in congratulating Brett for this amazing recognition and for the job he does to serve our community.
