Brevard County Fire Rescue Units Extinguish Residential Blaze on Lura Lane in Merritt Island

BCFR: last fire of 2023, there were no injuries

BREVARD COUNTY •MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue units extinguished the last fire of 2023 that occurred on Lura Lane in Merritt Island.

According to officials, there were no injuries.

“The first fire of 2024 occurred on West Baker Circle in Port St. John. Assistance was provided by Four Communities Fire. There were no injuries. One family was displaced and the Red Cross assisted,” said a Brevard County Fire spokesperson.

The second fire of 2024 occurred early this morning on Del Rio Way in Melbourne Beach.

There were no injuries or displacement. Mutual aid was provided by the Indialantic and Melbourne Beach Fire Departments.
