Brevard County Ocean Rescue to Host Lifeguard Tryouts Set at Rockledge High School Starting Nov. 26

no lifeguarding experience is needed, candidates must be over the age of 16

Brevard County Ocean Rescue seeking lifeguards for multiple open positions. Full-time opportunities are available immediately and seasonal positions are offered from January through October.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Ocean Rescue seeking lifeguards for multiple open positions. Full-time opportunities are available immediately and seasonal positions are offered from January through October.

Tryouts will take place at 1:00 pm at the Rockledge High School pool, located at 616 Seminole Drive in Rockledge on the following dates:

■ November 26 and 27

■ December 2 and 3

■ December 16 and 17

While no lifeguarding experience is necessary, interested candidates must be over the age of 16 and possess strong swimming skills.

Candidates will be required to swim 500 yards (20 lengths of the pool) in less than 10 minutes, complete a 2-mile run on a track in under 20 minutes, and perform a physical agility test that requires 30 push-ups.

Advanced registration is not required, however, applicants are reminded that testing will begin promptly and anyone arriving after testing begins will not be permitted to try out.

If selected, completion of the hiring process is dependent on the candidate’s ability to pass a background check and successful completion of a paid training course. Hourly $14.75.
