Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Missing Windsurfer on Banana River Near Kelly Park

Greggory Johnson of Merritt Island missing while windsurfing on Banana River

Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Deputies are looking for 60-year-old Greggory Johnson of Merritt Island, who has gone missing while windsurfing on the Banana River Wednesday night. According to a BCSO spokesperson, Johnson’s car was found near Kelly Park, where the search began Wednesday evening about 7 p.m. after authorities were alerted that Johnson had been windsurfing on the Banana River and had not returned.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Deputies are looking for 60-year-old Greggory Johnson of Merritt Island, who has gone missing while windsurfing on the Banana River Wednesday night.

According to a BCSO spokesperson, Johnson’s car was found near Kelly Park, where the search began Wednesday evening about 7 p.m. after authorities were alerted that Johnson had been windsurfing on the Banana River and had not returned.

BCSO officials said Johnson’s windsurfing board and sail were found on the eastern side of the river on Thursday morning.

Johnson was last seen wearing black shorts and is 5-feet-11 inches tall with a stocky build and gray hair.
