Brevard Fire Station 42 Crews Extinguish Boat Fire On Banana River Off Merritt Island

Assistance was provided by BCSO, Canaveral Fire, FWC and Coast Guard

Brevard County Fire Rescue Station 42’s crew extinguished a boat fire on Merritt Island in the Banana River  Thursday afternoon. According to BCFR officials, there was one occupant removed by a fellow boater and there were no injuries. Assistance was provided by BCSO, Canaveral Fire, FWC, and the U.S. Coast Guard. BREVARD COUNTY •, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue Station 42’s crew extinguished a boat fire on Merritt Island in the Banana River on Thursday afternoon.

According to BCFR officials, there was one occupant removed by a fellow boater and there were no injuries.

Assistance was provided by BCSO, Canaveral Fire, FWC, and the U.S. Coast Guard. The Coast Guard is coordinating the cleanup.

“FWC helped put some of the fire out and were made honorary firefighters!” said a Brevard County Fire Rescue spokesperson.

Officials have not released the cause of the fire.
