Brevard Grand Jury Indicts Jamarcus Simpson, Juan Shuren Jr. for Palm Bay Double Murders

A Brevard County Grand Jury indicted 18-year-old Jamarcus Simpson on two counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder and Robbery with a Firearm, along with 17-year-old Juan Shuren Jr., who was indicted on two counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder, in connection to the deaths of 16-year-old Travon Anthony Jr., and 14-year-old. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Brevard County Grand Jury indicted 18-year-old Jamarcus Simpson on two counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder and Robbery with a Firearm, along with 17-year-old Juan Shuren Jr., who was indicted on two counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder, in connection to the deaths of 16-year-old Travon Anthony Jr., and 14-year-old. Jeremiah Brown in Palm Bay.

On December 25, 2022, at 8:30 pm, Palm Bay Police responded to an undeveloped wooded area commonly known as “The Compound”, where a witness had discovered the deceased body of Travon Anthony.

Police later located the deceased body of Jeremiah Brown nearby and determined both had sustained gunshot wounds.

Investigators developed two suspects, Simpson and Shuren, who were both related to the victims. Over the next 12 months, evidence gathered from the crime scene, search warrants, and witness testimony lead to these indictments.

Shuren will now face prosecution as an adult.

The Grand Jury heard testimony from Palm Bay investigators, a lay witness, and the Brevard County Medical Examiner before returning with the indictments.
