BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Zoo is helping keep waste out of landfills by recycling unwanted holiday string lights.
Drop off your broken, burned out or old lights at our drive-thru drop-off point in the bus parking spots near the front of the Zoo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on January 20 and 21.
Please note that they are collecting holiday string lights only – no floodlights, extension cords, light hooks or other holiday decorations.
Proceeds from recycling will support the Zoo’s conservation programs.

Don’t forget: You can bring in your old smartphones, tablets, handheld gaming devices, digital cameras, chargers, headphones and other small electronics to the Zoo for reclamation through our Eco-Cell program!
The electronics drop-off box is located inside our administration office to the left of our ticket booth.

– Make your own gift wrap: Many types of gift wrap aren’t recyclable, so save money and the environment by creating your own gift wrap using kraft paper, brown bags, newspapers, magazines or other paper products found around the house. If you do purchase wrapping paper, check the label to see if it’s recyclable!
