BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The City of Cocoa continues to monitor the development of Hurricane Idalia and its potential impacts on the community. Below is important information that you may find helpful.

Over the past few days, employees have been hard at work making sure our community is ready for any potential impacts. It will continue to keep everyone informed through our website and social media channels.

The City of Cocoa will be closed on Wednesday, August 30 until 12:00 p.m.

All City facilities will open for normal operations beginning at noon. Our emergency operations team will continue to monitor the storm and track any new developments and potential impacts to the Cocoa community and stands ready to respond as needed.

All essential personnel will still report to work on Wednesday to prepare, monitor, and respond as required.

Sand piles have been placed throughout the City to allow residents to fill their own sandbags at the following locations:

■ West Railroad Avenue @ Rosa Jones

■ School Street near North Wilson

■ London Boulevard neat SR 524

■ Michigan Road – Behind Cocoa Jr/Sr High

All three Fire Stations and the City of Cocoa’s Public Works Department will have a limited number of bags available for residents.

You can visit one of these locations to get five bags per vehicle while supplies last.

This is for the bags only, they do not include sand:

■ Fire Station #1: 1740 Dixon Boulevard

■ Fire Station #2: 300 Brunson Boulevard

■ Fire Station #3: 3505 SR524

■ Public Works: 155 Wilson Avenue
