Cocoa High School’s Feeder Chain Schools Unite for ‘Literacy Week Kick-Off’ Event

Cambridge, Endeavour and Saturn Elementary united to celebrate the joy of reading

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Literacy Week kicked off with a bang as Cocoa High School hosted a Literacy Week Kick-Off event for their feeder chain schools.

Cambridge Elementary, Endeavour Elementary and Saturn Elementary all united to celebrate the joy of reading.

Families in attendance were read books from special guests including Mayor Michael Blake of Cocoa, Cocoa High quarterback Brady Hart, and School Advisory Council member and community volunteer Peggy Stickney.

Several members of the Cocoa Police Department also participated in the celebrity story time, including Officer Salley, Detective Fogu, Officer Tulier, and Commander Marchica.

Other community organizations, such as Brevard County Public Libraries and Eckerd Connects, were also in attendance.

After storytime, students in attendance engaged in fun activities to enhance their literary skills and creativity. As the event concluded, families received numerous books and goodies to take home.

This event served as a shining example of how a community can come together to support education and literacy. Cheers to everyone involved for organizing such a memorable and impactful event.
