Cocoa Tigers Defensive End Javion Hilson Commits to University of Alabama After Winning State Title

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Tigers class of 2025 four-star defensive end Javion Hilson announced his commitment to play collegiate football at the University of Alabama after winning the FHSAA Class 2S State Championship on Friday in Tallahassee.

The Crimson Tide adds the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Hilson to what is already the no. 1 recruiting class in 2025. Javion is listed as the nation’s No. 4 edge rusher and No. 47 prospect overall.

Hilson had over 30 division offers and chose Alabama over other programs such as the University of Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee to name of few.

The 4-star prospect entered the State Championship game with 90 tackles, 14 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

Cocoa Tigers Head Coach Ryan Schneider had this to say about his defensive star when interviewed by 24/7 Sports, “He’s blessed to have God-given, ability,” Cocoa head coach Ryan Schneider said. “The thing that makes him great is his work ethic and drive to be the best player he can be. His work ethic and drive are some of the best I’ve ever seen in a high school football player.”
