Cocoa Woman Reported Missing Found In a Shipping Container on N. Cocoa Blvd.

Lopez wasn't injured, but was taken to the hospital for evaluation

The woman, identified as Marlene Lopez was not injured, but was taken to the hospital for evaluation and possible dehydration.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A 52-year-old Cocoa woman reported missing on Wednesday, was safely located just before noon Thursday.

Police say she was found trapped in a shipping container located next to a business at 2005 N. Cocoa Blvd.

The woman, identified as Marlene Lopez was not injured, but was taken to the hospital for evaluation and possible dehydration.

Lopez was last seen on Monday at her home on Lucerne Drive.

“A coworker called with concern for her wellbeing after she failed to pick up her son,” said Yvonne Martinez, Public Information Officer. “Detectives responded and began to check known locations, interviewed family members, and issued a missing person bulletin.”

During the course of the investigation, police were notified that the woman had been found. She had been banging on the door of the shipping container when someone heard her and unlocked the door.

The circumstances of how she ended up in the shipping container remain under investigation.
