3 p.m. concert will include a treasure trove of big band, swing and jazz medleys
BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Community Band of Brevard presents “Swing into Spring” at the Merritt Island High School Auditorium on March 10.
The event will be located at 100 Mustang Way off North Courtenay Parkway. The 3 p.m. concert will include a treasure trove of big band, swing, and jazz medleys to keep your face smiling and your feet tapping.
A past winner of the John Philip Sousa Foundation’s Sudler Silver Scroll Award for musical excellence, the Community Band of Brevard is directed by former military bandleader, Robin Kessler.
Swing into Spring is free with no ticket required and no reserved seating.
Because of the program’s expected popularity, Community Band of Brevard conductor, Robin Kessler, suggests arriving early for Swing into Spring.
“Get ready for an afternoon of fantastic music from the Big Band Era,” said Kessler. “You won’t be able to resist snapping your fingers or tapping your feet to some of the biggest hits of the 20th Century!”
In 1999, the John Philip Sousa Foundation awarded the prestigious Sudler Silver Scroll Award to the Community Band of Brevard for “demonstrating particularly high standards of excellence in concert activities over a period of several years.”
