Eastern Florida State College Golf Prepares to Conclude Season at Battle of the Shores

Titans are coming off a 4th place finish at the Glenlakes Invitational

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s golf team will wrap up the regular season at the Battle at the Shores beginning on Monday.

The Titans will play against some of the best NCAA Division II teams at the Normandy Shores Golf Club in Miami Beach.

Eastern Florida State College is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Glenlakes Invitational and has finished in the top four in all three of the spring events this year.

Sophomore Nick Miller won the individual title at the Glenlakes Invitational and has shot under par in two of his last three rounds.

“We are looking forward to competing in Barry University’s tournament,” Eastern Florida State College men’s golf coach Jamie Howell said.

“It is always one of the most competitive NCAA Division II events and the team gets a good taste of highly competitive golf at the next level.”

Host Barry University is the defending champion of The Battle at the Shores as Miller, Adam Vermut and Bryan Hernandez will all be playing in the tournament for the second time.

Florida Southern is ranked 10th in the nation while No. 12 Saint Leo and No. 13 Nova Southeastern will also be competing in the tournament. The Titans come in ranked No. 13 nationally in the latest NJCAA Division I rankings.

The first round will begin Monday morning with the final round scheduled for Tuesday.
